Maine Maple Sunday Weekend

Maine Maple Sunday is always the 4th Sunday in March. On that day we give out homemade vanilla ice cream with Pure Maine Maple Syrup, sell homemade maple goodies, and have sugarhouse tours.
The recipe for the ice cream is my grandmother Pearl’s. My wife Jen soon started to make maple confections under the guidance of my grandmother. Pearl took great pride in this ice cream recipe as well as other special maple recipes. We are happy to share these sweet treats with you.
My grandmother Pearl passed away in January of 2009 and is missed deeply. Now my wife Jen and cousin Missy continue the tradition of cooking the ice cream while my father Steven freezes it the old fashioned way, in an electric ice cream maker, snow/ice and rock salt.
